I heard it.  His main points were

Its the worst villa team since the 1950's

Its a rubbish squad with no quality

Delph only looks good because we're so poor everywhere else.

There's no leadership and or off the pitch

Roy Keane is rubbish

He feels sorry for Lee Clark, as Lambert is worse

Possibly a little extreme from Ron there :-) sure we are bland & boring but as for the worst team since 50's - really???

I think I'd agree with one of those.

So would I and it's something we've lacked for years, but the rest of that rant is like saying unlimited immigration is wrong so send 'em all back.

I think it about 20 minutes in if you want to relive it in all its glory.  All we need is for Dennis to call demanding to know where Stephen Warnock is again.....

Does anyone agree that giving Lambert a 4 year contract was potentially feckin stupid because he said that as well.

Does anyone agree that gabby was perhaps lucky to get a new 4 year contract? Because he said that as well.

Ron was spot on. He never said it's the worst villa team since the 1950's, he said it doesn't get any ugly than it does now.

He summed it up perfectly. Lambert out everyday till he goes and it won't  be in four years.

Yes, both decisions were somewhat knee-jerk.  But to say its the worst team since the 50's when we've had four relegation seasons since then is OTT

Franks did bring up the amount of points we've got so far, but that seemed to be ignored as it didn't fit in with his argument, nor Alan's, who is the world's angriest Villa fan from what ive heard of him

He feels sorry for Lee Clark, as Lambert is worse

1. The team/squad we had two years ago was much worse especially as we didn't know at that point how good Vlaar and Benteke would be in the prem.

2. Our squad isn't great but we still have in it one of the best centre halfs at the world cup, one of the best strikers in the league and some decent internationals

3. Delph looks good for England and will also look good for a top team next season.

4. Fair point on leadership.

5. I'm not sold on Keane as other but harsh.

6. Paul Lambert has won promotion from league 1 and championship, Clark couldn't get up from league one despite spending a fortune at Huddersfield.

I respectfully disagree with most of his points.

The worst caller on there is the Stripeyfilth fan Dennis. He is an absolute twat. After wanting Irvine gone after two games, he now claim's he's eating humble pie. He also reckon it's the best squad Albion have ever had. He said that last season as well.

What better than the team they had under Big Ron in the 70's?

He didn't say it was the worst team since the 50s, he said it doesn't get uglier than this. He also said the team was rubbish and Lambert didn't deserve his new contract. I agree with everything he said.
The only thing I didn't like is that he didn't mention Lerner's part in it all.

Ah if you'd listed those points in the inital list I'd have agreed with them wholeheartedly.

I'm pretty sure being in Division 3 was uglier than this. As was 8 years straight years out the top flight that was part of a run of 14 years where our highest finish was 15th.

It is crap though.

The trouble is, ugly is a very subjective term and in the words of a well known adage, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. On these very pages I have read that Uma Thurman is fugly, and you have yourself, when discussing Battlestar Galactica,  compared Tricia Helfer with Gary Busey.

My most active period of supporting the club, when I went to all of the games home and away, coincided with our slide down the divisions and our subsequent ascent.  In the darkest days, I never thought we were not trying to win a game, or that a win was out of the question.  TSM introduced that concept, and now PL seems to be using it as well.
