He is fast becoming 3rd name on the team sheet after Brad and Benteke.

12 months ago I groaned at his name in the side, but the confidence that Lambert has clearly injected into him has been incredible. It was I think the West Brom away game, where he was excellent first half but went off injured at half time that I really noticed the profound improvement and effect he had on the side. Since then he has been exceptional almost every week, and the way he bursts through a midfield driving forward is something that we have not had in a long time. He is growing into a very good player. If he could add 6-10 goals this season he would be very valuable indeed.... another that would not be worth well above what we paid. Possible that he could end up being the best signing MON made in the long term.

I've always seen he has great potential, glad I was right. Will be great to see him against the Liverpool, I hope he bags a goal or two against them.

Add me to the list of those now eating their words. He's looking the real deal.

And me.

Pubehead mentioned soon after buying Delph that he needs to watch his tackling as the way he dived in was more likely going to injure himself then the player he was going in for. Unfortunately this has proven true. But recently under Lambert he has reduced that so hopefully he will suffer from less injuries.
Just show's how little time he spent training the players,he had long enough to show him.

He was very very good tonight, it was possibly his best game for us. He was our best player at Arsenal too.

indeed he was an utter terrier wasn't he? I was in the (very) lower tier so it's hard to see fully all the ground he covered tonight, but loved how much he snapped at their heals, broke stuff up and surged. will look fwd to finding a full match archive online and watching him through the TV camera :)

This is not hindsight or whatever, honestly!
I was really chuffed when we signed him and a Leeds supporting workmate was full of praise for him and said what a great player he was - future England, captain material etc.
I've always liked his guts and determination which seemed to dominate over his skill and eye for nicking the ball and doing something with it.
My longstanding Villa mate always knocked him, I always defended him.
I am really peased to say he was the best player on the pitch tonight and I think he's gonna carry on being a real gem for us.
Come on Fab!

Very similar isn't he?
Never stops working, always snapping at heels and great at geting a toe in to nick the ball, but then a great ability to turn, twist and set play off in another direction.
And he still only looks about bloody 12!
Wait 'til his balls have dropped and he's got proper teeth!

Aye, it took a long time for Stan to come good too, by which time many had written him off. I remember my clashes with Angry Andy- on the subject well!

Well chuffed with Delph's recent form and thought he was superb tonight.

Nearly calmed down - just another glass of this single malt....
