Does it count as falling on hard times if you were a multi millionaire at one point and proceeded to piss it all away by being a twat?

Aspinall fell on hard times because he backed himself to score every time.

Probably was mentioned before but did anyone watch the footballer secret suicide program fronted by Clark Carlisle.

He interviewed Hendrie. To be fair Hendrie looked after his family by buying them houses, but then the property slump screwed him over.

Plus a divorce probably wiped out 60% of his wealth

I assume that was Hendrie's take on things?

I find it hard to believe that someone earning £1m - £1.5m a year for over a decade can end up bankrupt due to bad luck alone.

Let's not portray him as some unlucky philanthropic family man.

Well you know it kind of does and doesn't.

I'm sort of glad that I don't have these financial problems.

"It's everyone Else's fault" syndrome. I'd have a little more respect if people like Hendrie took a bit of responsibility for their own actions. There is only a handful of ex Villa players I really dislike , and he is one of them.

He said the houses he bought for his family were repossessed.

I found myself thinking that, given that they were mortgaged or in his name (for them to have been snatched back), that's a pretty liberal definition of "buying" someone a house.
