It closed down after a shooting incident last year. I am not aware if it reopened.

Thanks , I may be getting it mixed up with another historic Brum club - The Rum Runner.
Didn't the Aston Hippodrome stand in that area by The Bartons ? Famous old building shame it got Demo'd. The likes of Laurel & Hardy had played there.
