never underestimate the importance of giving your kids a hug or kiss, telling your mum or dad that you love them

A couple of weeks before my dad unexpectedly died I was leaving for work and my folks were looking after my almost 2 year old son. As I left Billy was sat cuddled up with his 'Pops' asking him to read to him, for some reason I went back in the house and got my camera and took a photo without either of them noticing. So glad I did it, it was the last photo of my dad and a lovely photo.

Indeed, both my mum and dad died when I was young, or pretty young. Never take a loved one for granted.

Sad news. has anyone passed Dom's tribute onto the club? (apols if I missed it just read thread)

Would be a nice piece in the program or H & V. Or something in either publication dedicated to the lost ones.

Dom, I'm going to merge this with the existing thread and alter the title a little so it stays as a sticky at the top of the page.

Really touching piece Dom. Had me shedding a few tears. I think it was a great token by you guys and the club in organising it for his nippers to get on the pitch at VP to give Guzan with his player of the year award. What a magical moment for Rutski to enjoy. Hope he'll be enjoying the Villa from up on high this season. He came across very well on here and clearly the mark of a much loved and respected individual. I will certainly be donating to the cause.

I have been to Marks service today .

It was more of a tribute to Mark's life than a funeral - with 3 tremendous eulogies to him, given by family and friends , a lone trumpeter playing 'Jerusalem ' in reference to his love of cricket (which made the hairs on the back of the neck stand on end) and lots and lots of claret and blue - which I am sure he would have loved .

He was very obviously much loved .

UTV mate - holte ender in the sky .
