They're fantastic. I love the one with the fans at the barriers being held back.

Even though today,  thousands of photos are taken at every match from every angle, you'll still won't see better moments in time like those.

Some of those I could study for hours. It's difficult to pick a favourite.

There was a fantastic mixture there of photos I have fond memories of seeing before, mainly he ones from '81 and '82 and ones I had never seen. I think that is the first time I have ever seen a picture of Ron Saunders and Tony Barton together. I remember most of the dressing room pictures from Highbury but had never seen the Gary Shaw one before. I think it is Morley holding the window open, not Cowans as it says. At first glance I couldn't believe the one of the coaches was from as late as 1981. I suspect that is because some of them were not exactly brand new!

A great selection of pics.

It was nice to see one of George Edwards in a Villa kit as I only knew him as the nice old man who ran the local paper shop when I was growing up.

Did anyone go to the English superbowl at VP in 1985?!

I  reckon a couple of them aren't Villa.

One is Wet Spam, isn't it? And I don't recognise a single one of the (presumably) players in the 70's style suits.

Edit. Didn't notice the captions. The players in the suits are Norwich City before the 1975 League Cup Final and the one I think is the Wet Spam one is definitely NOT Aston Villa v Chester City Legue Cup Semi 1975. The team that day was Jim Cumbes
Chris Nicholl, Ian Ross, John Robson, Charlie Aitken, Bobby McDonald, Chico Hamilton, Keith Leonard, Brian Little, Frank Carrodus and Ray Graydon.

I think you are right about West Ham. 10 looks like Brooking, 6 possibly Bonds and 2 looks like Pat Holland.

Great to see the classic one of Spink and Withe kissing the cup. Shame they didn't include the one with them pushing it on the luggage trolley and the one with Dennis Mortimer wearing the pilots cap.

My personal favourite is the picture of Pat McMahon's winner v Man United in December 1970. The backdrop of a packed Trinity with the gable is just stunnning.

Also symbolic as a major turning point in our history.

As you may expect, I like that one too!

I am also surprised at how much better the old Witton Lane stand was than the small shitheap that replaced it for the 1966 world cup.

Love the last one on page 11. All the Villa fans at Highbury. Amazing how many black faces are in the crown on that picture especially as the era is normally painted in a very bleak picture in terms of racism.

I can honestly say Ive never been as angry as I was when Law got sent off for kicking Alan Deakin in the face when he was on the floor.

That man (if you can call him that) got something like a six week ban for what he did. Unheard of in those days.

An act of extreme cowardice from a so called brave player.

Yes that is classic Trinity Road photo. That old Witton Lane stand looked nice and it was a shame it was replaced by an enlarge bus shelter.
