It looks like another Paul Lambert masterstroke in signing him lol. It was PL who signed him wasn't it? He could be our new Cafu. Overlooked, ignored and farmed out for years and now looking like he could become our regular keeper. Fair play to the bloke.

Yes that shows you just how long he has been at the Villa ! lol

Did well again against Forest with the defence

Jed steer will be signing from Norwich on July 1st-

Paul Lambert believes the increased competition for places brought about by his early acquisitions in the transfer window will contribute to more consistent and stronger performances by Villa next season.

The Villa manager has strengthened his defensive options for the forthcoming season with new signings Jores Okore from Danish Superliga side Nordsjaelland and Antonio Luna from Sevilla.

He will also add Norwich City goalkeeper Jed Steer, 20, who becomes a free agent on July 1, to a firmament of four including Brad Guzan, Shay Given and Benji Siegrist.

In midfield Aleksander Tonev and Leandro Bacuna have arrived from Lech Poznan in Poland and Dutch Eredivisie club Groningen respectively, while 6ft 5in Danish international striker Nicklas Helenius expressed his desire to be part of Lambert's young, hungry and emerging team having completed a move from Aalborg BK.

Fosters lager doesn't do transfer windows, but if it did, it would probably be this one.

Sheeiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttt!

Not that I'm aware of.  The 'keeper is in possession of the ball, the attacker is on the field of play, the 'keeper releases the ball into open play without looking behind him so, fair game.  Not really playing within the spirit of the laws though is it? But not as I said illegal.

Looks like Jed Steer is out for the season with a shoulder injury according to Bruce.

I haven't read this thread since here. Imagine my shock at seeing he's out, until I got to the Bruce bit....

It's about time Jed got his chance and he's taking it with both hands (which is good, being as he's a keeper...eh thank you).

We look and feel much more confident and comfortable at the back with Jed in goal...certainly a better option than Nyland or Kalinic.

I work with a Narwich fan and when we signed Bunn and Steer he said Steer had far more potential.

I have more potential than Bunn and Iím an overweight, five foot seven, fifty year old that last played in goal when I was seven.

I've heard that Steve Bruce thinks he can get a tune out of you at right back.

Are you prepared to accept just a 3yr contract?

Thought the defence have confidence in Jed Steer and visa versa. We have started throwing the ball out to the defenders as opposed to the big hoof. He certainly deserves his place

Agreed. I feel he instils more confidence than the other candidates we have tried this year.
