I hate all this. I find it impossible to extract any joy from life at the best of times.

I'm heading over to Off Topic to argue with the twats over there and I'm not coming back until Ireland is given a new contract.

Why aren't we moaning about stuff going wrong? That's when we are most creative.

Aston Villa, summer 2013. The quiet revolution.

They won't know what's hit 'em.

Roll on August. Come on you Villa boys!

If/when we get the big man to commit for at least another season I will need to have my smile surgically removed.

Yes happy times indeed. Genuinely looking forward to the start of next season. Even thinking of throwing away the medication. At times last year it was terrifying but never boring.
In the past couple of seasons I have barely watched motd (crap I know but won't pay SKY subscription any more).

Hoepfully he will look at the 2 newbies and think that is where I was last year and see the club being consistent with a blend of British and European young players and also seen who has been released / for sale and thinks this is the place for him for at least another year.

The future is looking better.

Expect a LB - probably Cresswell -and a new young goalie (maybe the lad from Norwich) - then it all depends on Mr Benteke.

Can't believe we haven't signed anyone today yet.  Lambert out.
