The date for the Chelsea game still hasn't been decided

Chelsea have offered Villa a proposal to bring their visit to Stamford Bridge forward to August 21, as the date of the original game clashes with their Uefa Super Cup meeting with Bayern Munich nine days later.
Mourinho is keen to stage the home game in the first midweek of the forthcoming season, three days after their curtain-raiser against Hull City, but Villa are understood to have blocked the move.

Chelsea travel to Old Trafford on August 26 and could have already secured six points by that stage but Paul Lambert's team kick off their season away at Arsenal and then would have to face Chelsea on Wednesday, followed by a home game against Liverpool the following weekend and have asked the Premier League to consider an alternative date.

Villa would ideally like the date to be in September because if their trip to Chelsea was cancelled they would not play again for another three weeks, when they face Newcastle on the 14th.
The Premier League are dealing with the matter and will make the final decision, with confirmation expected in the next few days.

There is a free midweek after the Chelsea game for clubs that are in Europe (as they don't have to play in the League Cup Second Round). Why didn't they just arrange it so Chelsea were playing one of them that week?

I know Sky wouldn't be happy to miss out on the chance to show Chelsea v Man U/Arsenal, etc, but surely they could live without televising Chelsea v Swansea?

Due to Chelsea's participation in the Uefa Super Cup, the club's Barclays Premier League fixture versus Chelsea at Stamford Bridge has been rescheduled for Wednesday, August 21, kick-off 7.45pm.

Do we know when Sky/BT pick their January games ?

I was looking to book a few days in York over New Year and pop up to Sunderland for the game.

I know that its not a glamourous fixture for TV but I suppose that it could get moved.

NYD is on a Wednesday this year isn't it? So no chance of games being moved to the Thursday as the FA cup is the following weekend.
