Liverpool away, Man United at home and Man City away.  Call me an optimist.

Assuming that we are home first and away in midweek, Palace away will be the second away game and moved to a Monday.

Fulham away first up would be ideal, had a great day out two years ago. Ok, 0-0, TSM's first game but away from the football the piss up was good.

Fulham is always a good away day, if a little pricey.

This is how it all works. Interesting read

Indeed. This is the time of year when I remind everyone of how I was on that committee years ago. There is no more thankless task than the fixture compiler's.

Was that in the days before computers dave?
I imagine its a lot easier to programme fixtures in the main nowadays - who has the final say regarding Boxing Day home games as i read they are chosen manually.

Of course they used computers. They still do for all fixtures but there are so many factors it's incredible that they manage.

I guarantee that we will have Chelsea away either just before Christmas, Boxing Day or New Years Day. As a 1pm kick off too.

My least favourite away day of the year.

I remember when I was in a subbutteo league as a kid (okay it was last week), and we only had 10 teams and it took us forever to work the home and away fixtures for everyone.

I would like either Norwich or the Baggies at home or Fulham away for our first game.

Nice winnable home games on the first day, boxing day and the last day so we can start and end on a high and also have a better Christmas than last year. None of the promoted clubs early doors until they have had their optimism and excitement knocked by a few beatings. Champions League clubs a few days before they play a CL match. I don't ask for much.

My ideal scenario - First game home to Norwich, boxing day home to Palace and last day home to Fulham.

What will happen - First game away to Chelsea, boxing day away to Palace and last day away to Manchester United.

I'd love Manure at home too. Smethwick home or away wouldn't be bad either. We should be beginning with a home game though after two seasons beginning away. Shouldn't we?
