Is this a serious thread ?

Had a mere mortal started it, they would have been strung up by the goolies.

I think there's something there in Bennett but at times he did struggle last season and it might be a risk to rely on him again. Bearing in mind Lescott can play left back, he'd be first on my wish list before anyone else.
Bennett will be better alongside a better left CB.

Will get better. Or look better?

The jury is out on all of our defence for me. They were shocking defensively last season. Lowton looks good going forward and Vlaar chipped in with 2 screamers too.
Something isn't working back there though, albeit I don't think the midfield did them many favours particularly the wide midfielders.

We have no problems at right back. I am happy with Lowton and Herd as a back up. Bennett redeemed himself in my eyes towards the end of the season but we need an option and Stevens isn't it. I heard Cresswell at Ipswich is available for about two million. Lescott would be ideal for the centre. I like Baker, but he is prone to drop big clangers. Clark didn't have a great season and Vlaar disappointed me slightly but with one good signing in that position we would suddenly have options and competition for places.

We didn't have wide players when we were doing really shit. When he played a proper formation, the full backs weren't exposed.

However, as has been said, so long as score more than we let in, who cares?!?!

Bennett will be better alongside a better left CB.

I agree with that and that lescott should be top of our list CB wise.  Nothing will happen there until the managerial situation at Man City is sorted though.

Bennett has looked to good going forward to write him off without trying to get the defensive side of his game right by coaching and having more stability in the rest of the back 4.
