No eastie, it was easier to copy and paste the full squad list from somewhere else, which for some reason was missing the 3 that I added in later.

I wouldn't be averse to seeing the back of

Given
Hutton
Dunne
Ireland
Bent
Albrighton
Holman
Delfouneso
Bannan
Stevens
Lichaj
Herd
Baker

That's clearly too many to get rid of in the summer but it's a measure of how much work still needs to be done to the squad.

I'd keep all the players signed in the last 12months, good or bad.

The remnants of the MON old guard - obviously bin them

I'd prefer to keep Bent as an insurance policy, but i guess he'll go

TSM  signings Hutton, N'Zogbia - bin them

Youth players - Delfousenso, Allbrighton - bin them. Probably give Bannon one more try

What about Delfouneso, Albrighton and Bannan?  :P

Holy shit, am I being presumptuous that we are not going to try and snap up Dawkins on a 5 year deal ?

I'd also cut Albrighton more slack than Bannan. Marc's had a terrible time with injuries and lack of form but I think he deserves another run. Might be hard to fit him into our current style but if he can show his crossing ability again as well as his ability to ghost in at the far post (used to team-up nicely with Downing like that) he could be an asset.

It must be said that his fall from grace has been pretty remarkable.
When he burst on the scene he looked like the next big thing...and it all went horribly wrong for him.
He looked completely out of place on a Premier League pitch the last few seasons.

Albrighton was borderline for me, what went against him for me was he's 24 at the end of the year and has shown little form for over 2 years. Such a shame because as ger says, he looked like he might be the real deal. I watched that season review a while ago ago and for those few months when he was on form he looked a real prospect.

Sell: Given, Hutton, Lichaj, Dunne, Stevens, Holman, Bannan, N'Zogbia, Bent
Loan out: Bowery, Carruthers, Burke, Johnson
Sell / Release / Pay off / Anything as long as he is no longer anywhere near the Villa: Ireland

Albrighton I'd give one more year, possibly even loan him out. If we could get him back in form I still think there's a player there.

Fonz would take Bowery's squad place - is he really any worse?

Bannan I think is nowhere near as bad as some like to make out, but we have far too many average or ok centre midfielders. We need to lose some of them and get one or two of quality in. Herd may well also fall into this category but can fill in in defence and is probably a better squad option. El Ahmadi should get one more year.

I assume we would get a taker for the Fonz since he's still making the England under 21 squad.  What should we ask for him?

Was the Fonz 8 when he made his debut for us?!  He seems to have been playing for the U21s forever!
