I think the word banter may stop me following football one day.

Along with the phrase "bragging rights."

Oh come on! Get with the kids (not in Operation Yew Tree kind of way!). It's spelled bantz, and must be preceded with #!

Savage is a superficial, shallow, z-list celebrity troll, with very little of quality to say about football at all.
He's the human equivalent of The Sun "news"paper.

That said, the offensive tweet was stupid and may come back to haunt the tweeter.
I remember when email was first introduced where I used to work, we were instructed to be careful what we wrote,
as it could  one day be read out in court. That surely means even more now, with the advent of socila networking.

Slighty OT, my favourite TV soccer pundit moment was Boxing Day 2009, in Singapore, watching a live Premier league game.
The English presenter and his two ex-footballer pundits were dressed for the occasion, the presenter as Santa and his
pundits as elves. So there, talking utter b*ll*cks, dressed in the kit he should always have worn -an elf costume- was
Carlton Palmer.

All this 'banter' reminds me of the Monty Python RAF banter sketch.
