I remember going to an end of season awards 'do' that was quite good. In 1992 when they used the old bingo place behind the Holte as a social/supporters club for a season if I remember right.

It will be an even better atmosphere if Wigan lose.

Wasn't there an award for best goal celebration last year or did I dream that?

Last season's awards night was a complete embarassment (i.e that we had one at all given the season we had) and to be fair I remember Shay Given saying as much at the time.

The events on Broad St afterwards were even more embarrassing.

Yep, I went to one at the Bingo place.

They had the presentation to the supporters' player of the year, a Miss Aston Villa contest, a comedian and Nigel Kennedy playing Vivaldi's Four Seasons . A real cultural melting pot. Kennedy was going out with Brix Smith at the time and she was there with claret and blue hair. A good night though, got to meet and talk to all of the players and Big Ron. Still got some great photos from that night

I went to a couple of them years ago in the Holte Suite when John Gregory was in charge. They were good nights actually. Like Chico said, you could mingle with the players after the awards were given out, there was a Miss Aston Villa contest and Glen Tilbrook played at one of them which was a bit of a thrill.
