He is a real poster boy for the enormous sums of money wasted at this club.

Signed for £8.5m, if you assume he was on 40k a week, which isn't unreasonable, was here for 4 years, and walked away for nothing, you get a total cost of not too far of £20m.

And that's not including other payments like win bonuses or signing on fees etc etc.

Given that we're often told Randy has sunk £200m into the club, that means that more or less 10% of that figure was spent on having Nigel Reo-Coker play for us.

What a shocking waste of money. Not NRC's fault, but the fault of the people who spent so much on him in the first place, then managed him so badly, he ended up walking out for nothing.

I am also not too convinced by this "he did his best for us, that's all we can ask" line, either. Surely doing their best is the least we can ask of them, not all?

I am not too sure to what degree he was doing his best for us when he got into a training ground brawl with the manager, for example.

Reo-Choker has been the most trending subject on H&V over the past two months. Let this be an end to it.

expect a lot of arm waving, huddles and pointing VL as he gives the ball away...again. He'll do well in the MLS, though it's not quite the CL that he had hoped for off course. I'll be out in Vancouber a bit this year so maybe we can get together at some point for a game and a pint.

Sounds good TV, for sure let me know when you're in town. We have a Villa supporters club here too and often meet up at the pub to watch the games, be great if you could make that too.

UTV!!

Who is the "designated player" then? Surely not Super Average Kenny Miller?

Seemingly, he is. I wonder how NRC feels about being on a lot less than him. Especially as it was not that long ago he wasn't interested in staying here because he was, and I quote, 'interesting Champions League clubs'.

I don't think Nige is short of a few bob to be honest. 4k a week isn't chicken feed either. He probably could have earn 4-5 times that at some championship clubs, but I guess part of his decision is to branch out a bit.
Maybe he'll get the designated player spot next season.

He got his big international move eventually then. The MLS is about to get a lesson in pointing.

Good luck to him. He did his best for us and that's all we can ask.

Surely the best thing about playing for the Whitecaps, is living in Vancouver! Lovely part of Canada - a real favourite of mine.

Absolutely. Fantastic place and I would love a last job there myself.

I've never rated him much, especially as i've often said he cost us a small fortune. A staggeringly average footballer who thought he was far better than he actually is. The fact his peak years will be have been spent in Division 2 and Canada when he thought he was good enough for a top European side sums him up. Thanks for spunking the money Martin.

Would like to see his face when he goes down skid row and sees all the hobos hanging out at night :-)
Like something out of The Day of The Living Zombies.
