Can we have him back please? In any capacity, just talking about our club, being a figure head, putting his trusted hand on the rudder!

Selling programmes?

He did. His second stint wasn't so good. He's too old to manage now but a DoF type role or even CEO would be great. Move that idiot Faulkner out.

It does seem a bit daft now I think about it.

"I think managing Aston Villa from managing Norwich is totally different for Paul Lambert."

SUBTEXT: HE'S MORE OUT OF HIS DEPTH THAN A MIDGET IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ATLANTIC

f
I agree managing Villa is different from managing provincial clubs like Norwich however out of his depth NO.

No it's not. He needs to leave and run a corner shop. By the way no disrespect to corner shop owners.

What is your idea of Paul Faulkner's job description and delegated authorities? Just a question.

I am not sure if he has the authority or wherewithal to do this job. Running Umbro is much more straight forward  than managing Aston Villa. There is possibly  a very clever almost daring, unbelievably so, plan to get rid of the burden of big wage boys by getting relegated but if he is pursuing  that than he is on another planet. I think he has failed completely as CEO of oh Club.

Well he is the CEO of Aston Villa if I am not mistaken - therefore in charge of all business related matters and the 'product' if you like is ultimately what happens on the pitch, everything else is an offshoot.

So how is he doing compared to his peers at Tottenham, Everton, Liverpool (I'll exclude the CL moneybags clubs as that is not fair)?

I'd say he is doing fucking shit to be brutally honest. We have been sinking since he was appointed CEO.

O'Neill walkout, Houllier, McLeish. The latter 2 should never have been appointed under the circumstances, any circumstances in fact. The record isn't good. And now it transpires the lastest punt on Lambert has gone awry and he is way out of his depth too.

Move on Faulkner you have done enough damage.

I suppose he has a Oxbridge degree so no doubt will land another good job despite abject failure at the Villa.

Former Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor has spoken out about Aston Villa's relegation plight and the frustrations over the club's future.

In an exclusive interview given to the Extra Time podcast he said fans were well within their rights to question Lerner's commitment to the club after the American's promise of Champions League football amounted to nothing.

And Taylor adds that the Villa top man should give interviews to the press so that supporters can find out more about his intentions.

Taylor said: "The problem that the fans have is not necessarily with the manager or the players.

"When he (Lerner) first came it was 'We are going to get into the Champions League but it may take us four or five years to become a Champions League side' and that was accepted by the fans.

"Once that didn't happen and the break-up of the relationship with Martin O'Neill, and the position they are in now and Randy Lerner not turning up and not doing press interviews...I think Randy Lerner has to come out and do a few more press interviews.

"Having said that I am pretty certain he is not going to do that.

"It leaves supporters here questioning who is in charge of our club?

"Is he really interested in our club?"

And Taylor added that in his experience it is important for the manager to try and keep the press onside when things get tough.

He added: "If you lose contact with your local paper then that is bad news.

"I think managing Aston Villa from managing Norwich is totally different for Paul Lambert."
Lot of valid points here i reckon.
