I'm gobsmacked we're still not cut adrift, we are the worst team in the league now, how aren't we cut ardift? Maybe that is the only hoe I have.

Well we are 3 points behind Southampton and with our goal difference it may as well be 4 points, 4 points behind Newcastle and 5 behind Fulham and 6 behind Norwich

Only Wigan are a single result ahead of us.

So we are slowly being cut adrift from those above us, and our goal difference will bite us on the arse

Fucking hell Risso your optmistic! I wonder what the odds are on us getting less than 3 points for the remainder of the season, because I can see that happening.

As much as I hate to say it, I fear it could be this. Some of my predictions went by my heart. Wigan are strengthening, I've got a feeling QPR and Soton will ad players. Ourselves and Reading seem dead certs for the trapdoor

13 points and that's being wildly optimistic - probably not enough for us.

We should just refuse to go down. Fold our arms like 5-year olds, shake our heads and refuse to accept that we're no longer in the Premier League. Ignore the championship fixture list next season and just send our first team, dressed in full kit ( with Premier League badges still on the arms) to wait outside randomly chosen Premier League grounds every other week and ask for a game.

We could draw up our own fixtures on here in June.

Can we not have Fulham away in August though, I'm on holiday

Is there hope of a Rugby Union situation, whereby they change the relegation/promotion system mid-season ?

That takes us to 35 points leading to.....

Wigan (a) - win 3 points

Total - 38 points

Enough to stay up??

We will loose more than 4 of the remaining games

I think the cup losses could be important, if we'd have hammered both teams, Randy would have thought everything was peachy. They all know we are in the shit now.

On top of that, the Dunne injury could force another one in - who thought he would 1. Be fit, 2. Last the rest of the season and 3. Make one mistake per game like last year?

All this depends on whether Randy has already thrown the towel in I guess.

Last year and the year before, I remember looking at remaining games, and people chipping in with their expected points return, but there were a few matches where we all expected to get nothing, but got something.

This year, sadly, really I don't think there are going to be any of them.

I think when we play Wigan on the last day our performance will be sadly reminiscent of when Newcastle came to be relegated by us.  No tactics or organisation from a useless manager, and no spirit or fight from the players.

It is possible but the thoughts of us needing a win at Wigan fill me with dread. This team needs to pull its socks up.

A result at Everton and I might start to believe...

If you offered me the option of winning at Wigan would guarantee our survival I'd bite your hand off. I think we'll be down well before then.

Of course, so would I, it's just they are used to the scrap, we aren't and tend to lack spine. I wouldn't fancy us getting the win. If Wigan had already secured safety and we needed a win I could see us getting it but not if we both needed a result...

I totally agree, the team is in chaos.

If we go down, I may get a season ticket. Perhaps its idiotic but I've been disillusioned with most things football for a long time. I'm sure a lot of it will be like Division 1 used to be.
I'm not sure whether that is defeatist or looking on the bright side
