Short term measures for Salvation.
« on: January 22, 2013, 10:22:37 PM »
For the minority who still have a bit of hope....

1. Sack the manager.

2. SIGN A DECENT HOLDING MIDFIELDER!!!!

3. Sign a decent Left back, Rilse on 18 month deal would do me.

3. Get Dunney fit and back in a.s.a.p. Clark is really struggling now, Baker is made of glass so for all his faults and physique issues, I'd be more confident of fewer goals in our net with him him and Vlaar in central defence.

It will be slow and cumbersome and there may be an own goal and a reckless lunge for a penalty or two in the run but he'd organise and get at the full backs and Vlaar on occasions.

4. Get rid of Ireland. Was a fan last season but he lost me after Wigan and for 60k a week couldn't even dictate against Bradford. Not someone to rely on in a relegation battle.

The refusal of the manager to either try and sign someone or complain that he is unable to makes him a fuckin spineless ******.

As questionable as some of his decisions have been the real problem is the owner.  He needs to fuck off.

I concur, however if Lambert had any pride at all he'd resign tonight, not that that happens anymore in the money mad world of football!

EDIT: And Lerner has to go too!

I haven't drunk a beer since Christmas, tonight Stella Artois is my salvation, expensive and short term.

Sacked or not, 4 decent players in ASAP.

Maybe we can stop Clark, Vlaar and Bennett assuming their places are nailed on, regardless of form.

1. Keep Lambert

2. Sign a decent centre Back

3. Sign a DCM and an Attacking Midfielder

4. Don't let Lambert make any substitutions during the game

5. Practice defending corners for the next 4 months

6. Don't let Benteke anywhere near our box when the opposition has a corner

7. Practice hitting corners or dead balls with pace instead of floating them in.

8. Put Ireland in the programme hut just inside the upper holte for him to do something useful for the 90 minutes

Not resigning -

@henrywinter: Lambert asked whether he would continue: "Yes, absolutely.' #avfc

This. 4 big, strong men, with athleticism and technique in defence and midfield.

Men.

Oh and play Bennett left wing. He is the new Pete Whittingham.

Sack the manager tonight.

We can worry about the rest when that necessary task has been carried out.

We need to get up and go again, or whatever repetitive bollocks he spouts.

tactical organisation, discipline and decent man management. If we could just get the basics right at the very least we wouldn't be nearly as deep in the shit we're in. If I saw some tactical nous and every player trying their guts out for 90 minutes I'd be a happier man.
