Asthma UK

Some of you might remember this tragic news.

Here is an update:

Raising Money for Asthma UK in Memory of Owen 8

Owen Jeremy passed away aged 8 in May 2012 following an Asthma Attack. He was an energetic, cheeky little boy who loved swimming, playing football and the Villa (even though nearly all of his friends supported The Albion or Wolves). In his memory his family and friends have decided to take part in a number of fundraising activity to raise money for Asthma UK to help support the work they do raising awareness of Asthma (particularly in schools). Our first scheduled event is the Manchester 10K run and it would be great if we could raise £2500 - we are largely a group of mums who have never run. It would be great if you could look at our fundraising page and sponsor us. Many thanks

Any and all donations would be very much appreciated.

One of the saddest things I've read on here, a few of our posters have had some tragic times over the years.  Will send something tomorrow.

Yes, moved me to tears that thread.
And a warning to all parents not to ignore asthma, our Cameron had a couple of bad attacks in his early years, bloody frightening I can tell you.
Have donated.

Will donate on pay day. I suffer with asthma myself and it always shocks me to hear of these attacks.

They have now raised around £1000 (as a combined total) with over £100 of it coming from us.

Update from Rowena:

Quote
Just wanted to say a big thank you for the support - I completed the Manchester 10K on Sunday in 1 hr 13 mins (a bit slower than I had hoped) and we have raised almost 5K. Received lots of donations and good wishes from the Villa supporters and they continue to inspire me to raise even more. I would appreciate it if you could post this message of thanks for me! Below is the evidence (I'm the one in the middle)
