Gabby has had three years of being shite. Best for all parties if he moved on. He got a chance at playing up top by himself when Bent was injured last season and he was gash. He was developing into a fine player under MON but that day has well and truly gone. Can see him slipping down the leagues ala Vassell to be honest.

Exactly my feelings.

Me too, I think he gets cut some slack for that fact he's a loyal fan, but the last 3 years he's been a shadow of the player he once was , should be approaching the peak of his career but he's gone the other way.

Maybe mon would be able to reignite him at Sunderland but I can't see many others being interested in him.
He needs to lose the weight.

Not that I disagree with your point, but is moving players on the best course of action at the moment? We're hardly dripping with experienced players.

He's experienced and has been shite the last 3 years. A swap deal for Craig Gardner would be ok by me.

I bet Sunderland would take that as well.

Only read this page, have to say I thought he was a disgrace the other night. Bennett was in trouble in first half but did he give him any help? I dont think so.

Never made a secret that I am a huge Gabby fan. And as much as a lot of the criticism in recent months of his play has been justified I wonder if today will wake him from his slumber? He's a streaky player so bit of a shame the break has come when it has. Still, today was the Gabby we all know and love. One swallow does not a summer make, but excellent today and along with strike partner.

First half today was a throw back to the MON days. Really good to see

He looked hungry and so up for it, I can't wait for Benteke to come back and have a front three of Gabby-Benteke-Weimann

For someone who is so anal about threads I'd have thought this should be in the Official Gabby Appreciation Thread.

That was his best game for a while and he shouldn't have been subbed, unless he'd taken a knock. At times, he looked the Gabby of old.

He looked bagged by the end. He'd run himself into the ground so that was why I think?

I'm not his biggest fan .Thought it was brilliant how he acknowledged the crowd as he went off - cos he's one of us , ain't he ? Meh.

That aside - was probably his best game since Liverpool away.

Let's hope it's the start of a rennaissance - rather than having to wait for another few months for a decent display again.

He took a bit of a knock when that hull player tangled with him.
(think his thigh got stood on if I remember right.)

McShane stepped on his shin/calf. First half is why Gabby gets so much stick. He was superb, but we only see it a few times a season. Last we saw it was Liverpool away, 19 league games ago.
