Mmmm....I heard something over xmas from someone normally very reliable that 'one of the players who had been banned from driving was ignoring the ban'. Looks like there may be some substance in this.

I remember noting with interest that when Chelsea cancelled the contracts of two players for unprofessional practices, as luck would have it the two players concerned were on lucrative contracts but not contributing much on the pitch.

They even managed to sue for a 'transfer fee' for one of them when they subsequently signed up at another club.

I was told last night that one of our players, currently banned for drunk driving, has been nicked again on the same charge.

Any truth in this?

Is he Scottish and shit?

really simple. Sack the player concerned. If he's had his warning then there is no room for leniency. If it's who we are thinking it is then he's been little use of late anyway. We have to set an example and the potential consequences of drinking and driving are way bigger than football. Once is too many, twice is inexcusable.

Oh brilliant, now all the anti-Bannan brigade will be saying he's been driving whilst pissed up again despite their being no evidence for this whatsoever.

Why let the truth get in the way of hounding one of our most promising players.

let's hope all of this is bullshit then and if it is true it isn't him. A lot of people on here are pro-Bannan "the player he can be" and much less the "wanker he often comes across as", or the "player he thinks he is, and clearly isn't"

Knowing us, the player in question will be Benteke, we'll get rid of him, then have to pay his new club £25m for taking a risk with a criminal.

If true don't you think the Mercury or WM would have made it public knowledge as soon as it happened?

A handful of internet nerds discussing whether or not he's done it - he's not exactly being "hounded" is he

He got more stick last night from those Asian lasses in the home end every time he took a corner. That was funny
