As much as I hate to say this think we could have a few years in the shadow of Albion.
For what it's worth I don't really know if that would be such a bad thing. For one, hasn't it been boring having utter dominaance over our neighbours for 30 years making us feel so superior to them? Also, being a so so midsizeclub can you ever really see them winning anything or even finishing in a European position?
We are in the worst mess that I've known at Villa Park since Billy McNeil was in charge and it isn't going to get better soon. Our accounts will show a right can of worms and I don't know if we will stop up. For sure it will be a closer thing than last year.
Meanwhile, Albion have been investing well in their squad and their infrastructure - however, their piddly little ground is still a source of amusement.
Having a brother-in-law who is a Boggie, I've always quite liked them, except when they play us, but guess their re-emergence as a club will see us growing to dislike them more. Also, as the post attached shows they seem to be taking quite an interest in us now. Fairly balanced post and giving historical perspective on our place in the food chain, which I think most of us would agree with, until the last few paragraphs. However, as the Boggie realises we will still always be the biggest club in these parts.
All I know for sure I want to beat them more than ever when we meet them this month for more reasons than one.
