A new experience for Whitlock tonight. Turning up to a match in which his was the more sensible haircut.

I laughed out loud at this. Classic!!

Wright misses double tops for 3-4, he's 5-2 down. That was the match there.

Anyway, the proper darts is underway now.

If you enjoy seeing players hit plenty of 5's and 1's that is.

It's a struggle watching the BDO after the PDC Championship. They're so much worse at it. Suppose it's because they all have proper jobs as they can't afford to go fully-professional, like the PDC players can.

I take the piss out of the BDO, but do feel some sympathy for it. The few seriously talented players that come through will inevitably be lured by the bright lights of the PDC. The BDO still has a place in the sport. It's excellent for amateur players who just like a game of darts really. I really don't think it should be calling itself the professional championship though. The standard is laughable really, and the whole coverage surrounding it is so outdated and half hearted.

Of course its all borne out of Ollie Croft, and his/the boards refusal to move with the times in the late eighties/early nineties. If it wasn't for the players breaking away, then darts as a whole would be in a pretty sorry state.

My Missus was happy that Bumting (Bunting) AKA Peter Griffin won the darts.

Lakeside Champion Stephen Bunting has switched to PDC. Be interesting to see how he gets on. Hopefully better than Ted Hankey who recently switched back to BDO.

Don't watch much darts but please tell me that Ted Hankey's nickname is "The Christmas Poo"

Disappointingly not. He's "The Count". Can't remember if it's because he looks like a vampire of if it's because he's good at maths. Maybe both.

I always thought it was because he's dyslexic.

I thought Hankey had a stroke during a game and doesn't play now?
