Of the new signings Benteke and Lowton have been very good, Westwood is now showing that potential as well. KEA I think will come good, as will Bennett in time. The only slightly confusing one is Bowery, not writing him off at all but I'm not really sure why he's getting on the bench.

Probably because he's fit.

I thought Bowery was earning rave reviews from Gordon Cowans?

I haven't really heard anything about him as yet.

To be honest doing this after 11 games is a bit pointless.
After 19 games is the time to reflect / panic.

I think Herd is vastly unrated around here and needs more involvement in the squad on matchday, as a utility player but also as someone who can give some backbone to midfield when required.
Baker is definitely someone to persist with.
Bowery: is on the bench for two reasons, I'm guessing: he's the only fit striker and it's good exspericne for him to experience first-team matchdays. I hope the confidence that PL and Sid seem to have in him is well-founded: wouldn't it be great to develop an inexpensive younger striker into a first-team player?

Another Herd fan here. I really like the lad, gives his all and never let's us down. We needs players like him in our squad.
Baker, if he continues to develop at this rate will soon be replacing Clark. Both needed now and in the future.

I can't disagree with many comments at the top. We need a midfield general and a winger and perhaps a defender but we need someone as long term replacement for Dunne. I can't see any problem with Bowery getting on the bench as we might end up with two strikers getting injured one day and then we can throw him on and give him his chance.

Long term Herd will I think play more in defence as I think if we improve he won't be good enough technically for the midfield.

I see Herds greatest attribute as his adaptability to that end I think he will make it in some form or another.

Is it only me who thinks Bennett is much to lightweight as LB? I am not having a go at him i can see genuine potential but i just feel we need a pacy LB who can get up front and put balls in as we are set up very narrow and need width. Baker i feel will be the main central partner with Ron if given a run and i am really pleased with Benteke KEA and Lowton. We are getting there ........

Bennett will fill out over the next 12 months, can't agree on KEA, looks like a duff signing to me.

I think KEA could turn out to be a decent squad member, but think Westwood has moved ahead of him at the moment.
