The worst thing we could potentially do is take an early lead.

Yep, I remember a game against them in MONs 2nd season I think it was when Gabby scored the 1st for us and I felt for certain it was the year. They ended up winning 4-1 and I remember their fans singing throughout half time. Last year was the 1st time in my life I didn't think it was the year to beat them. I don't think we'll win tomorrow, but it wouldn't surprise me...

Was that the game we ended with 9 men?
Yeah, the referee seemed to have his red card out of his pocket before Reo-Coker made the tackle, also Sorenson was sent of and Taylor cam on and saved the penalty

I don't know, being 4-0 down after 10 minutes would be pretty shit as well!
Ha, yeah I know it seems a strange comment, but you must get my
Drift. To be honest if we were 2-0 up at HT I'd feel worse than if it was 0-0.
The only way to beat them is a smash and grab mugging.
Hope that makes sense.

I know what you mean. At OT 3 years ago, Gabby scored after 21 minutes and I commented to friends at half time that I wished we were losing because I couldn't bear the tension. In fact we held on and won at OT for only the 3rd time since the last war, but my nerves were completely wrecked by the end

Thing is that was a great game, and both teams were playing well, then Zat Knight let a cross roll across the six yard box and they equalised, Rooney scored another and Craig Gardner somehow scored an own goal just before half time.

Even then we still came out firing second half, and Gabby almost scored, but it was the stupid goals and not the red cards which cost us.

Maybe we should just concede the one in the first 10 and another after 25.....?   Decisions decisions!

I thought Gabby scored on about 60mins that day then it was the longest 30 mins in history. Time effectively stood still.

I live and work in Manchester. All week in the build up to that game I'd been telling my work colleagues how we were going to beat them and I got laughed at. I had the same converstation with a guy in a pub in town too. They had no defence and we'd been coming into a good run of form. I think we were at Portsmouth midweek for the League Cup Quarter Final. Again, the remark I had back was "Doesn't matter who's playing. We're Manchester United".
That's how arrogant and short sighted United fans are. Anyway I have a good feeling a out today. Come on you lions!

I remember somehow watching most of the game on the staira inbetween the rows with other Villa fans. It was like an old terrace, every time they went close or we hit them on the break we all moved forward.

A sublime Gabby header.

I think what I said earlier is correct: 21 minutes
