Beye was Barcodes player of the season before we bought him. He was a decent player - just paid too much and underplayed. A  classic MON gaff.

Move on.

No anger towards Beye, just MON pubehead.
Met Beye once while he was with us, in a bar (not great I know), seemed an ok bloke, had a very big watch on that was worth about 80k.

He was crap. Not bothered about his attitude but he was crap. So were Shorey, Sidwell, Davies, Harewood, Heskey, and Cuellar. All gone and with it our money and optimism. A lot of re-building to do because of O'Neill. Lets not forget who got usinto this and not focus our anger on average players given great wages.

well said PW

Id be ok If I had probably earned about 5,500.000 in wages doing nothing.

Was very highly rated at Newcastle. When he signed a couple of fans said he'd be better than Luke Young.

In fairness the few games he did play in the league he did o.k for me. One game he came in against Spurs and got MOTM I think.

Just this sort of signing that sums up what's wrong with modern football and MON's managerial style. Modern football as he was a 40k a week bench warmer.

MON as why the hell did he sign him when he just then decided to play Carlos at RB for most of that season so we had two expensive RBs warming the bench in Young and Beye.

He was better than Hutton.

I'm better than Hutton. Even after the operation to make myself look like a merman by having my legs fused together.

I'd go along with this, including Cuellar, and I'd even throw in NRC.

I'll throw in a Salifou.

Was Salifou on high wages though? I doubt he was on anything more then 20-25k.

I doubt he was earning more than 10k. Still, it'll have been much more than he earned before, since or ever again.

Probably. To be fair to him, he was an integral part of our successful reserve team and I'm sure the likes of Bannan, Albrighton, Clark etc benefited from playing alongside an international.

Was it against West Ham that he gave away a penalty, got sent off and we lost 3-1?  I seem to remember.

Then Cuellar played the next game and got sent off.
