Tony Adams, what a ....
« on: September 19, 2012, 02:06:28 PM »
cock.  From the pages of F365, Mediawatch:

"Pointless
Mediawatch would like to put Paul Lambert in a room with Tony Adams and then sit back and watch Adams tell the Scot that there is simply no 'point' to his job as Aston Villa boss.

Adams - currently working as an 'advisor' to Gabala FC in Azerbaijan - has given a 'wide-ranging interview' to the Evening Standard which features such insight as that Arsenal have 'become a feeder club and it's like different levels of clubs all of a sudden'. And yes, he did say 'all of a sudden' - just seven years since they sold Patrick Vieira.

But he saves the pure gold for speculation about his own future...

"I've done the lower leagues and it's a different style of managing," he said. "No disrespect but I don't want to be Swansea boss, either. They probably don't want me. Aston Villa? What's the point? What can you do with them? So it's the Arsenal or nothing and I'm not ready for that."

So Adams - whose spells in English football are limited to Wycombe and Portsmouth with a combined record of 16 wins in 75 games - would turn down the manager's job at Aston Villa because there's no 'point'. AFter all, what can you do with Villa? Apart from re-establish them as a top-half Premier League club, challenge for domestic trophies and perhaps build your own reputation as a manager, presumably.

But of course he doesn't need to build his reputation...

"My reputation as a coach is very good in Holland," boasted Adams. "I worked there for a long time at Feyenoord and Utrecht as a first team coach."

Mediawatch is loath to entirely trust Wikipedia so we shall offer this extract from Adams' page with a small pinch of salt: 'In July 2005, Adams accepted a trainee coaching role with Dutch side Feyenoord with special responsibility for its Jong team, which is a reserve/junior side. Adams later had a short spell seconded to Utrecht as a first team trainee coach in January and February 2006.'

Pinch of salt, yes - but does it sound like Adams spent 'a long time at Feyenoord and Utrecht as a first team coach', to you? You keep waiting for that Arsenal phone call, Tony.

Didn't Tony Adams bomb out of the manager's job at a lower league club?  And now it's Arsenal or nothing?

Must be something they put in the water to give Arsenal players a certain attitude.  Look at O'Leary.

Don't worry Tony, I don't think you'll ever be asked to manage a club as big as Villa even in any amount of alcoholic stupers you may experience.
You fucking bollocks talking, BFG looking, piss artist freak.

And they could pay him in carrots.  But, as we told him some years ago in his playing days..
"what a waste of carrots".

Apart from Swansea and Villa fans being gutted that they have to put up with Laudrup and Lambert because Big Tone doesn't want to manage us, what an impressive way for him to put in his Arsenal job application. "Arsenal have become a feeder club. It's Arsenal or nothing for me but I'm not ready for that".

He was the first of that generation to do an autobiography.  I thought this might be an interesting read what with all his drinking exploits, car crashes, time in prison and some background insight about Arsenal's success.

After two chapters I couldn't care less about him. Being very badly written was one thing but the content, just repetitive  "poor me, woe is me, poor me".  Twat.

I assume Savage and him must be related?

Spot the brain cell because I certainly can't...

He's not the first ex- Woolwich Arsenal centre back to have delusions about his managerial ability is he?
