At the same time we'll be aware that we live in the real world and in that real world players will want to move on, for whatever reason.  If we sell one of these players for £20 million with one year left on their contract then that will soften the blow of having to look for their replacement.

I saw Ashley Westwood play for Crewe in a youth team game a few years ago when a couple of my lads were on trial at the club.  He pretty much ran the show from minute one.  Great confidence and doesn't seem easily phased.  Very much an old head on young shoulders.  Attitude wise, he reminds me of a lad I played with as a kid in Birmingham called Kim Casey. Without wishing to put too much pressure on him, I think we may have found a gem.

The ex-Kiddy Harriers non-league legend?

Who had a brief spell at Cheltenham at the end of his career?

And probably one of the last-ever non-league players to be better off semi-pro.

Casey wasn't fit to lace Chris Hanks boots. And he wouldn't have been able to build part of the ground like Chrissy did. Kiiiiiiiiiiim Casey, what a wanker etc

I used to love going to watch Cheltenham as a kid. The days of Buckland and Boyland up front. Splendid.

And neither of them were a patch on Mark Hallam.

Casey was a non league legend!!! Scored 73 goals in 1 season still a record I think
He was assistant manager at alvechurch in the Midland Alliance last season I believe.

Why isn't Henders getting a look-in at Tamworth yet, Dave? He's not moving on again already is he?

Hamstring tear, he's up in Lilleshall doing physio stuff, another 2-3 weeks out he reckons.
