I had something similar last night too.  It was flagged by McAfee also.  There was a trial period of McAfee when I bought this laptop almost a year ago but I downloaded Avast for free, yet from time to time McAfee flags sites asking 'are you sure you want to go there?'. I know they are safe sites so ignore it, I thought it was an anomaly of something I'd typically done wrong.  I've never had a problem with any anti-virus software as far as H&V is concerned before.

Hi, I keep getting a bogus pop up saying I’ve won a prize from Virgin Media when I’m on the main discussions section.  Looks very dodgy.

Similar for me. I keep getting a pop up and redirect about prizes from Sky whilst using Safari on iPhone (no issues whilst browsing on MacBook). The only way to get out of it is to close the browser. It only happens whilst using H&V. Very annoying.

I've cleared my browser history in iPhone settings and will advise if it happens again.

Me too, it’s doing my nut in. If I change to the mobile version it’s fine but I hate using that mode. I’m using Safari on the iPhone.

It’s actually got worse and happens as soon as I log onto H&V, can’t get rid of it, cleared my browser and history, it didn’t help.

I’ve also found that clearing browser history doesn’t matter and happens whether logged in or not...literally happened again within seconds of hitting the forum. It’s also happened 3 times whilst making this post.

Also receive a Safari message saying website not secure (or something similar) in red text before logging in.

Unfortunately this is also happening for my dad too on his iPhone and also on Sky broadband, however he receives a different message:

I also tested my iPhone on 4G and his Sky broadband. The redirect and messages didn't happen whilst on 4G but did when I connected to Wifi (you will see the redirect URL has changed from "bootstrapcardcenterimage" to "callcentercard").

I use Firefox with UblockOrigin and Ghostery on my laptop and have no problem. No problem on Android, but I use an app which I wrote myself as a training exercise.

Just ran a simulation using Safari and can recreate the problem. You need a decent adblocker. A proper VPN will have this built in. Downloading and running Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, both of which have free versions, is always worth doing.

Ad-Blocker Pro sorted me out although the ad it did subsequently reappear on another non H&V site

Thanks Rudy. I've just downloaded "Ad-Blocker Plus" (free app in App Store) and will post any updates.

So have we established it’s only happens on this site? It so why would that be?

Since I’ve changed to the mobile version it has not happened once. Within seconds on old format I get the pop up.

What have you done with Mobile View? It looks like it was designed by Small Heath fans.

I don't like change. 😞
