designing new lions club badge
« on: August 03, 2012, 12:19:49 PM »
I am in the process of setting up a kingswinford branch of the lions club.

i have an idea of the design of the badge but need some help in getting the artwork together so i can send it to the badge makers.

i want a mod target badge with claret outer ring, white inner ring and blue bullseye. the blue bullseye to have gold rampant lion in and in claret ring Kingswinford Lions 2012 in gold.
marshall has done mock ups, i dont know if anyone else has the software to do it. would be appreciated if anyone can help
regards

I should be able to help you out, I'm good with image editing software and can create images from scratch and what you want sounds very simple to do.

At first probably easier to post image on here but can email it to you afterwards but need to know what you want exactly

What sort of badge is this for, a metal pin or a sew on patch and what sort of size was you thinking for the badge?

Do the people making the badge have a website i can view as sometimes different companies prefer different image formats?

The idea of a badge or emblem is going to be for enamel badge, sew on badge and emblem for letterheads and eventually on a kford lions flag. It will also be in the website.

This is a mod style target in the colours as you requested following the sizing proportions of the original style, is this how you want it before I go any further with creating the image.

Ignore the quality of the second image, I just shrunk the large image down to give you an idea of how the proportions will look when used as a small badge.

My concern is the when the lion and text is added to the smaller size it will just look like a little yellow blur. I know it's not exactly what you wanted but from a design point of view I would consider doing the enamel badge like the third image with a narrow white ring with a larger blue circle and be able to fit a larger sized lion into it.

Again ignore the quality of the second small image, any final image will be better quality, i just shrunk the large 1 down again just to show you the proportions

stikz, the sizing of the badge is essential and in the first design i think you have nailed it, if the lion will be too small maybe just the text is needed in the outer ring. i am looking for a particular style to the emblem, maybe different to what others have done but the mod style badge is essential.
on another note, i gave Ron Vlaar an enamel mod style villa badge today and told him to wear the colours with pride. Ron said thank you and said , ok i will. whether that means he will wear the badge i dont know or just a ref to wearing our shirt.

I always assumed you were in New Zealand NZ. That's some commute.
