Just seen this on a twitter from ITV news.  Does say he has improved since the weekend.

Get well soon, Daniel.

A girl in my class contracted it a couple of months ago.  If it wasn't for the immediate actions of the out of hours doctor her parents called there'd have been an empty desk in the classroom for the remainder of the year...  Know the symptoms!

Very much so. Think the key is in recognising the symptoms really quickly.

A schoolfriend of mine at the time died of Meningitis many years ago, because his GP refused to make a house call. Daniel seems to be in much better care. And when he signs for Spurs, maybe we will get Defoe...

Viral according to Jim white. What's the difference between meningitus and viral meningitus?

In most cases a bacterial infection is easier to combat than a viral infection. In the case of meningitis, bacterial is the deadlier.
