I can't see the 19th minute tribute stopping. Only needs a few to start it, and then who wouldn't join in?

There  will be a natural end if the club stop displaying the Stan 19 on the screen. After a while it will be  exception rather than norm and may be that's the way it should go.

Personally I think it should be spontaneous whether it happens next season. I'm sure Stan knows we support him.

I think Stan might step down as a player then become no 2 to Paul Lambert depending on how his fitness is.

It's up to the individual, but I'll be continuing it until he's better.

Someone I know around where I live, him and his wife are very food friends with Stan's missus and Stan himself, he told me a couple of weeks ago that him and PL are very good friends. He also mentioned that Stan's treatment is going very well and they think he will play again next season, which shocked me!

I'd like the applause on 19 minutes to continue I think.

I'd like the applause on 19 minutes to continue I think.

It would actually be nicer and a more meaningful guesture if it carried on without 'official' backing from the club.

So what do you want to do if the club keep backing it? Stop?
Are the club not allowed to also express their gratitude to Stan and hope he gets better?
All they do is stick his picture and number on the big screen, hardly intrusive is it?

If they did continue to do that then it would be fine, I didn't mean to imply they shouldn't.

Sorry, got your post wrong, thought you were saying the club shouldn't carry on supporting Stan so the fans could. Ignore me, long weekend at work.

I can see why the Club wouldn't want to stop supporting it, but tbh, right from the start I wished they wouldn't put a prompt on the screen (although it is helpful from the point of view of knowing when the minute is up).
To use the phrase of the moment, it makes it feel a bit "north Korea", which is a misrepresentation of what actually happened. The idea came from the fans, and if it had been left with the fans it would have had a natural term to it. The club now have to decide whether to continue to "orchestrate" it, or to look heartless by stopping it - they've painted themselves into a bit of a corner really.
Having said that, the simple answer is for the man with the finger on the button to wait and see whether the fans start it, and then put the picture/message up if we do.

This for me

Someone I know around where I live, him and his wife are very food friends with Stan's missus and Stan himself, he told me a couple of weeks ago that him and PL are very good friends. He also mentioned that Stan's treatment is going very well and they think he will play again next season, which shocked me!

Bloody hell! I really do hope this happens, it'll be just as emotional for me as when I heard the horrible news in the first place

I want the applause to continue but really hope we see the day when we are able to applaud Stan when he is playing again.
