How stupid doing it tomorrow. Why not do it today or yesterday, when most of us are off work?
I'd have loved to go down for this.

A lot of the press and TV are off work too.

Oh well, the kids are still off school aren't they? Should ensure a good turn-out, as long as they hear about it.

The club will hopefully send a text, email etc... They seem to for everything else!

Not stupid at all. there are lots of reason why today or yesterday  is not suitable. This is a Press conference and lot of normal press are also on holiday. However the biggest reason is that all TV channels and papers are pre-occupied with the Queen's ability to be still walking around at the right old age.

They must have a good reason for not doing it when more are off work but unfortunately it rules me out.
Usually I'd go anyway but I basically have two days to do a weeks work before swanning off to Dorset for a week.

Hopefully they'll still get a big turn out. I'm sure they will.

Of course they have a good reason. It's work, therefore it's on a work day. Every new manager press conference takes place during the week; Villa are just telling supporters in advance rather than not bothering to keep us informed, which has always been the case before.

I'm just waiting for it to be all Faulkner's fault.

There will be enough supporters there now to make a shot on the TV news and to create a positive voxpop.

That's good as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed. It is unfortunate that some people have to work but with the bank holiday there will still be enough to hear about this and go to give a good atmosphere, maybe not a Geordie welcome (it helps when the ground is five mins from the city centre) but 500 or so can seem big if the cameras shoot it right. It will certainly put the TMS demonstrators to shame.

It will probably be a lot of the same people, but in a good mood.

What did they have against Test Match Special anyway? I rather like it.

5 would be enough to work with, frankly. It's been done.

Depends on the spin the news channels put on it. I can see Sky showing the 5 and saying that shows how fickle the fans are. Whereas Central might have the camera in with them to give the impression of lots.

Maybe the people who work at Villa, including Paul Lambert, wanted some days off with the family. Paul Lambert, especially, is going to have a very busy next couple of months.
