Coming on here and not having to wade through pages of how we're doomed forever.

You've got high hopes haven't you?

Well, the board have corrected last year's error, and haven't appointed as close to a guaranteed failure as it's possible to get.  Despite what some people think, I believe that the vast majority of fans simply want to see Villa do well, and last season was just abysmal beyond belief.

From other club's fans, pity replaced by envy and hatred. I've missed that.

Aye, it was that.

Other than pretending it never happened I'm looking for suggestions as to how we can eradicate 2011/12 memory from the memory bank.

So on an optimistic thread, you've come on to moan about fans moaning.  Not entirely sure how that works, but whatever floats your boat.

Being able to listen to the Guardian pod without having to hear the 'Villa are abysmal, for football's sake they should go down' stuff. Which was worse given how hard it was to argue with.

Alcohol + long bank holiday weekend should wipe out most of the last ten years, let alone last season!

To be honest if people were ever going to moan it would have been last season and I think even this forum on the whole was patient. It was truly atrocious and I don't think people complaining were out of order. Hopefully that is all in the past now though.

- The team being built around a superb, dynamic, intelligent Stephen Ireland
- N'zogbia playing like we all know he can on a consistent basis
- Marc Albrighton winning back the support of H&V
- Getting to sing "hi ho Aston Villa" after a game more than 4 times in a season
- Having Darren back scoring goals

And most importantly,

- Seeing my old man happy for a change, he's had a really tough year.

Coming on here and not seeing a single cheap-swipe 'told you so' post several seconds after it's confirmed Villa won't be relegated.

I will settle for the team playing for each other, looking like they care and having spirit.  No more gutless performances and no more rolling over having our bellies rubbed when we go to Arsenal, Manu, Spuds etc.
