Dave Whelan
« on: May 31, 2012, 10:21:37 AM »

Am I the only one that's seriously peeved with this tosser now?

"Villa not big enough for Martinez"..........excuse me Dave.......this is Roberto Martinez, not Lionel Messi.  This coming from a chairman of frigging WIGAN and an ex pro who played for.....wait for it.....Crewe Alexandra and Blackburn Rovers.

I hope we give Whelan as much abuse as possible when Wigan arrive at Villa Park this season, the guy is deluded.  The constant put downs of our Football Club, the way that he seems to have the Scouse as the greatest club in the world, calm down mosschops.

I wouldn't want Martinez anyway, any guy who cannot speak for himself but needs a chairman to act as his puppetmaster and speak for him, is not for me.

I hope Wigan go down now, and take Martinez with them, we'll see how many 'big' clubs want him then.

I advocate a boycott of DW Sports, JJB Sports and any other shiston sportwear shop with immediate effect.

Just read that myself. Who the f..k does that bloke think he is? He needs to remember that Wigan are a rugby league town. What a tosser!

He comes across as very ungraceful. I realise he's looking out for his own club, but why the barbs at ours?

If you ask anyone in Wigan for their opinion of Dave Whelan then it takes five minutes for the swearing to stop.

I've managed to avoid them for 49 years, can't see any reason why i'd suddenly find cheap casual sportswear a good look.

It feels he's been doing the same crap at the end of every season for years. Dribbling on about how God like Martinez is and only the biggest and shiniest clubs will get him. OH WHELAN, no one wants him, he's shit like Wigan....you enjoy being 18th up til April Dave!

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure Wigan fans have been boycotting their own stadium for at least 6 years or so now.

I don't understand the Dave Whelan method.
He clearly has a young manager who's done well to keep a small club like Wigan on limited resources in the Premiership.  Now correct me if I'm wrong but if you had someone who could do that in your employ, you'd be well chuffed & wouldn't be telling anyone who'd listen about where he should be working next.

Whelan is acting like a pimp, trying to over inflate the value of his young manager in the vain hope he can cash in on the modicum of success said young manager has brought his small football club when a bigger, better football club comes calling for his services.

Looks like it's all failed though doesn't it chubby?

He's like Doug with a bigger ego. At least Doug had what he thought were the best interests of the Villa at heart. Whelan is a supreme self-egotist who ends up looking like a polished turd. Shiny but still a turd from the footballing hotbed that is Wigan.

Best ignored.

Pinochio Martinez can stay managing Whelan Athlunatic and playing home games on a rugby pitch if he wants. If he has a top half season this season then he can shout about it, assuming he becomes a real boy by then! Whelan is just a knob with delusions of grandeur.
