Too bad. It would be great to help relegate those fuckers again this season

Hardly surprising, lucky to have him in the first place as he could get a far better job. The car crash continues.

I think Ashley has beaten us to it.

That's good - they'll be in the mix for relegation now along with Sheffield and Brighton. I would expect us to get more points than those 3.

Benitez leaving Newcastle.

Finally the end of the soap opera storyline that ran even longer than the Pat Phelan storyline in Corrie. I don't know how old Benitez's kids are now but I understood he stayed at Newcastle for so long because his family were settled in England. I think the family base is still on Merseyside, hence repeated rumours he might have been taking the Everton job in the past. Not great timing for Newcastle when the close season is half over.

I think you can throw Norwich, Burnley and Palace into that list too.

I wonder if Bournemouth might get found out this season, they go on long periods when they never win and look hopeless.

Eddie Howe is on the Barcode shortlist.

I think he needs to make a move to try and further his career now, wish it wasn't to that lot though.

I think the days of someone doing a SGT and choosing to leave the top flight for a supposedly bigger second tier club are gone. Even for clubs the size of Villa and Leeds, let alone Albion.

A large part of the reason behind that is because the Premier League is now just a stop off on the overseas coach's CV.  When they move on it is for a bigger PL club or the top division in Spain or Italy.  They have no intention of slumming it in the Championship.
