Big Freddie has just come on as a sub against Bulgaria. Makes me sick that we wrote him off so quickly yet he ended up at PSV and is now doing so well, especially as we've got that useless scouse prick at LB now.
Pleased for the bloke though, I loved seeing him down the Villa.
I hate you O'Neill.

Just mentioned it in the Other Games thread. Pleasantly surprised as I didn't realise he had done so well since leaving Villa.

Incredible comeback considering we basically wrote him off after his year out.
I must admit I gave a sigh of relief when I read the thread title. For a sec I thought Wild Willy had either croaked it or got sent to jail.

I never thought he'd be the same after that horror leg break. But fair play to him for coming back strong. Never particularly rated him, maybe because he runs a little unorthodox but definitely a good guy.

It took his a season to adapt to the pace of the Premier League but was great after that fist season. Bit of a cult hero really. Much more reliable than waste of money Warnock. Jeez, didn't MON piss some money up the wall?

Shorey and Warnock were diabolical replacement for Freddie
To be fair to MON, Bouma did seem finished after that injury and while its great to see him playing international football again, being a backup left back in the Dutch squad isn't a huge accolade. They are very weak in that position.

If he is good enough for the dautch squad, he is more than good enough to be in the Villa team ahead of Warnock

Is he in the Holland squad then?!
One thing I could never understand from his last season here was why he never gave him a farewell five minutes. He was supposed to have been fit for months as Forest wanted him on loan and we didn't have anything to play for against Blackburn at home which we lost so I couldn't believe he wasn't on the bench for that game.
