Bent left out of England squad

No Villa players in at all. Part of me is glad that we won't have to see him tapped up by the Sky team's cartel.

Unfair I think. He's better than Defoe, who doesn't always start for Spurs. I know he's been injured, but Bent seemed to do well for England under Capello.

Bent will say he has to leave for England reasons.  and tbh I would not mind too much if we got funds that the new manager could spend

Not really a surprise Bent's not going.

Fingers are crossed that he can now focus on getting fit over the summer. That he is looking forward to working with the new manager (who ever it may be) and net us 25 goals next season.

Although I have to say, seeing Barry, Young, Milner, and Downing in the midfield is pretty sobering.

He's barely fit though!

Opportunity missed overall here I think for England. He could've taken a young squad without expectation and blooded them in tournament football ahead of the next World Cup, instead, same old same old players that have consistently failed to produce at successive tournaments. Yawn!

I really thought Milner might not make it.
Not enough strikers in my book.  Where will the goals come from when Rooney is out?
Pleased for Ruddy, he has done well.
Be lucky to get past the group stage I reckon.

Good.

I see Roy has picked the fantastic Downing and Carroll, who have both had amazing seasons.

Should have totally gone for a young squad. We've zero chance of winning this, he could have given more young players massively important big tournament experience.

Chamberlain and Cahill aside, it's the same old England failures.

Has anyone got a link to the full squad?

I think Bent would be very much lacking match fitness come the start of the turnament and that's why he's not going.

Can't wait to see Downing providing the ammo for Carroll after the season they've both had.  Watch out Europe.
