I like Martinez too but unfortunately too many hypocrite Villa fans don't want him.

By hypocrite Villa fans do you mean ones that don't agree with you?

Martinez would be okay, and that's it, okay. he's keep us up, probably mid-table, but of all the candidates he's the least inspiring to me. I wouldn't be up in arms if we employed him but I don't feel that frisson of excitement when his name is mentioned.

No the ones with the elitist attitude of "he's not good enough" "he's too inexperienced" "the job is too big for him" "he would be too much of a risk" yet have jumped on the Solskjær bandwagon.

Yes,  the ones who don't agree with you.
No, the ones being hypocrites aka Stu.

Claim Martinez is no good and too inexperienced yet want a manager even more inexperienced and could be arguably just as if not more risky... However the likes of Stu (lol) don't mind seeing the bigger picture when it comes to Solskjaer potentially managing us but refuse to see the bigger picture when it comes to Martinez potentially managing us.

I cant really see how the poster you mention is hypocritical, at least not on this thread

He's said he doesn't want RM because for long spells of the year, his team are awful - which is pretty hard to deny.

No, the ones being hypocrites aka Stu.

Thanks for singling me out.

The fact is that I've seen Martinez teams being humped up hill and down dale for the last two seasons, only to get it together at the end of the year. It's like watching Coventry City in the '90's all over again. He's done nothing to impress me at all.

Once again, thanks for singling me out. And again the fact is that I know what we'd be getting from Martinez - our team would have a soft underbelly, and be easy pickings for teams that are determined and strong. In fact, they wouldn't even have to be that, Martinez teams don't generally score that much and their defence is shite - worse than ours in the season just gone.

Solskjaer is a gamble, admittedly, but I've also backed Lambert strongly on this board. I'm at a place where its one of those two I'd prefer, but I'll admit that I'm excited about having a go with an unknown quantity.

I've never been a fan of Martinez, and I don't get the hype surrounding him either. Now I've explained myself, perhaps you'd like to explain why you think Martinez would be so good for us? Because all I see is someone that specialises in Alamo-type escapes at the end of every season, after spending the preceding 7 months getting smashed.

i hope Martinez doesnt go to Liverpool, because i dont like Liverpool and i think he would be a huge success there.

i would much rather they go for one of the tried and tested big names that will spend loads more dough not build anything long term and then leave in 2 years time with a tidy pay off.

I actually think he's potentially a good manager and would do a good job at most clubs. However Liverpool fans will think they're far too big for him. I don't want him either, because I want Ole in charge of our club.

This. Racist FC is a poisoned chalice due to their fans unrealistic expectations. Any manager would be a mug to take that job which is why the likes of Rodgers, Klopp and de Boer have quite sensibly knocked them back. I like RM and hope for his sake he doesn't end up going there, as it won't end well for him there IMO.
