Kinsella wasn't as bad as Risso would have you believe but he was here for, what, a season or so? I don't know why he's aligned himself so much with the club since - he regularly plays for the Old Stars, doesn't he?
Must be down to his friendship with Stan.
He was at Charlton for many years. You'd think he'd be serving up cocktail sausages down by the Millenium Dome, not Digbeth.

Kinsella was a decent player before he broke us leg at Charlton around 2001, Parker replaced him. Did well alongside Keane for a good while at international level too prior to that injury.

When Keane walked/sent home on Saipan, he did ok next to Matt Holland at the WC in 2002 but no more than that. GT2 saw something in that partnership and tried to sign them both but only got Kinsella. Sadly he wasnt up to playing even GT2 primitive brand of football any more.

Was talking to Kinsella's father in law and apparantly Mark absolutely loves the Villa.  As already pointed out, he wasn't here for that long, so not sure why the love affair.

I didn't mind Stan as a player but he always seemed a bit of a dullard. The story I heard was after talking charmlessly to four girls in Leeson St. for a bit of time he supped his pint and announced "which one of you four is leaving with me?". To be fair I'm sure it sounded sexy in his Louth accent.

I remember his home debut against Man City in August 2002. My mate from Spain was over and I took him to a match. We won 1-0, but my mate couldnt believe how bad Crouch was and I do remember Kinsella taking a corner in front of the Holte End and geeing up the crowd.....it seemed a bit odd-as if he was a fan who had won a prize to play for 20 minutes for his boyhood club. He was pretty crap to be honest, but fair play for the effort
