Anything Positive?
« on: May 06, 2012, 09:51:29 PM »
Yes, I think so.

The emergence of Chris Herd - forced into the team and has done very well, hopefully he will be in the side for many years to come.

Clark is a class player, if he can stay fit.   Still not sure where his best position is - kind of like Barry in his early years.

Given - solid all season, great save today from Bale in the first half.

Weimann - looks a good prospect.

Money - has to be coming now I would think.  We can't sustain another season with this squad whoever the manager is and the board must know that.

Finally - Injuries, surely we can't have another run of injuries like we have had the last two years, that has to improve just by law of averages.

Lichaj. He's been good in a few games recently, I thought.

That useless twat who supposedly manages our team is going to get the sack for being responsible for the worst home record in the club's history alone.

The home record that will be forever in the history books, and will be forever a slur on the club.

We're still in the Premier League.

We can't get much worse than this season surely?

On a personal level, if McLeish stays and we are as bad again next season, at least I won't be there to watch it.

I'm no great AML fan but i'm glad to see athread with some positivity, as I think there is some.

Alex McLeish - The case for the defence.

1) We can be hard to beat when we're not accepting defeat pre-match.

2) The key injuries to the spine of the team would hurt any Club. Top golascorer, Captain and most influential midfielder and most experienced central defender all out for the last few months.

3) We can be extremely proud of the home grown talent that has come through this season.  7/8 on the pitch each week.

4) I think he's genuinely got some strength in character - it's been tested this season and he's just about come through it.

5) I think like GH would've, he'll finally weed out the trouble makers in the Summer, then add some of his own players and blend them in with the youth.  We've never really seen his team (hope that's a positive).

Alex McLeish had a more successful season with Villa than Billy McNiell.

The only positive I can think of is that McLeish hasn't yet sunk to O'Leary levels.

Time is a great healer but I still fill up with rage every time I see that snidey little prick's stupid face on TV, harping on about the great bunch of kids he had at Leeds or all of his wonderful times in the marble halls of Highbury.  Twat.
