I have 2 sides to this. If he wants away, I hope he is fit, scores 5 goals and we get 20 million back on him. If he wants to stay, then I hope he puts his feet up.

I quite agree, his impressively consistent ability to lead teams to PL relegation or as near as damn it, is ample proof.  He doesn't need to say a thing.

Maybe he's just not into making any rash predictions. Maybe Bent has been training with a ball, but he doesn't want to say so. I don't get this obsession with turning AM's every utterance into proof of his incompetence.

Well call me old fashioned, but if I was teetering on the edge of both relegation and the tin tack, I'd be asking for an update on Bent's condition almost on an hourly basis.  I certainly wouldn't be completely oblivious to whether or not he'd started kicking a ball in anger or not.

McLeish has said he has asked him, the pundits on soccer sat had a pop at hom without knowing the facts, and Bent is saying he has not been asked to go on the bench. Interesting and clearly no communication between manager and player.

This has all come about because of McLeish's comments. The guy really is clueless. Having just watched how Norwich played away to Arsenal and comparing it to how we rolled over there really shows how clueless McLeish is.

Yes,in the article on the OS Mcleish definitely gave the impression that he had asked Bent if he was ready for the bench and he said no which is a complete contrast to what Bent has just tweeted.

There is enough to criticise McLeish about without plumbing the depths, Bent is out for the season and a quick 'are you fit to sit on the bench yet' 'No boss' is in danger of being blown out of all proportion.
