Always look on the bright side of life (whistle) or “and now the end is here and so I face the final curtain”
It at this time of the season that I always start to looking back at what we've achieved, as I spend the close season looking forward with hope and expectation. I thought it would be almost impossible to find anything positive in what will be our worst season in terms of home results in our history.
However ” I have found some reasons to be cheerful”
1) We will stay up – not because were good but the rest of the team below us are rubbish
2) We are better fans than Blackburn or that lot from Wolverhampton and we will prove it by supporting our team in the remaining three games
3) The end of season DVD will probably only cost £1.50
4) The core of our future team will be built on players coming from our Academy who will be in the first-team squad on merit
5) I now know what the difference between Alex McLeish and a coconut – one is thick and hairy and the other is a tropical fruit
6) The financial fair play rules will kick in which will mean that Manchester United and Arsenal will be miles ahead of us but the other clubs will move closer towards us in terms of what they can pay players.
7) I now know what I would do if I saw Alex McLeish walking towards me wounded – stop laughing and reload the shot gun (it's a joke it supposed to be funny not malicious)
We get the satisfaction of saying “we told you so” Alex McLeish is wrong manager for the club as we said at the start of the season
9) I now know why Villa fans took an instant dislike to Alex McLeish – it saves time
10) I remember reading something from the club (in Randy Lerner's early days) regarding the fact that he was happy to pay high transfer fees but not happy to pay higher wages. Once we get rid of the older players I'm sure that we are only five experienced players away from having a squad that will finish next season in the top six.
11) We are 100% certain to start next season with a new manager as this will be the only way the club will get anywhere near their season-ticket target
12) British rail have decided to use Alex McLeish in their new advertising campaign – they think he's a suitable role model because of his regular points failure.
13) The bluenoses will lose in the play-off and Chelsea will lose in the champions league final
If I was a Dr I would be prescribing Vellum for 80% of people on this site so, be positive there must be other reasons to be cheerful/things to look forward to what are they? let's get all the fans thinking positively as we move towards the end of the season
Help me out and post other things to cheer me up (along with the rest of the claret and blue Army) as I for one need to focus on positive things in order to give 100% support for the club over the next three games.
Remember if you think we probably will, you're probably right and if you think we probably can't, we probably won't
