Star-studded line-up for Merse dinner.
« on: April 22, 2012, 10:05:20 PM »
A CAREER of highs, lows, trophies, tantrums and the occasional controversy and front page headline - allow us to introduce you to Paul Merson.
Never short of an anecdote or a funny story, the former Aston Villa, Arsenal and Middlesbrough man was a hero to many during his long career.
Now a popular Sky Sports pundit, football fans can join the ex-England International at A Night With Paul Merson and Friends, raising funds for former footballers charity Xpro.

The black tie gala event on Thursday May 3 at The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield promises to be a delight  for sports fans, whatever your team persuasion, with 'Merse' being joined alongside pals from his playing days. Want to know the story about THAT 'beer guzzling' celebration, fancy knowing what his England and 'Boro pal Paul Gascoigne was really like, ever wondered what his favourite goal was? What about his favourite boss? Or that gaffer he just didn't like? Ask away. This could be your chance to find out more.

The night includes a three course meal and a Q and A with Merse and friends compered by TV personality and top comic Nick Hancock, star of They Think Its All Over. The laughter will continue with popular comedian Lea Roberts while former BBC sports commentator Hamiton Bland will be our auctioneer, armed with his incredible collection of sports memorabilia.

Other VIP guests include Villa legends Gary Shaw, Mark Walters, Dion Dublin, Ian Taylor, Gordon Cowans, talkSPORT presenter Andy Gray, ex-Stoke City 1972 League Cup hero Terry Conroy and former Manchester United player Jimmy Greenhoff. Completing the line-up is  Xpro chairman Denis Smith, the legendary Stoke City defender, who was once named in the Guiness Book of Records for being the most injured man in football - since you ask, it was five broken legs, four broken noses, a cracked ankle, broken collar bone, chipped spine, breaking most of his fingers and toes and needing more than 200 stitches. He also managed Sunderland, Bristol City and West Bromwich Albion.

Guests are invited from 7pm for an 8pm start with the entertainment going on until 12 midnight.

There are three options for tickets:
A)   Sponsors’ tables: A premium position – these tables are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. A table of ten costs £1000 including VAT and includes: personal meet and greet with the celebrities, a signed photo with Paul Merson, your company logo on event backdrop, menus, in a our PR and marketing material. Name check on the night.
B)    Table of ten: comprises ten guests at £500 including VAT
C)    Individual tickets: £50 each including VAT

Our resident photographer will be available on the night for non-sponsors to purchase photos with Merse and friends*
