Dunne, Jenas and Bent
« on: April 22, 2012, 12:32:51 AM »
Any updates on their injuries? Are any of them likely to appear again for us this season?

You'd think Dunne and Bent would want to do everything they can to get back fit in preparation for the Euros.

From the Guardian a few days ago: "Darren Bent has revealed he has received the all-clear to begin running and step up his recovery from the ankle ligament damage he suffered in February but there is no chance of him featuring again for Aston Villa this season and it remains highly unlikely the striker will go to the European Championship with England this summer."

There's also a lot of talk about Dunne, though McLeish has been saying that he doesn't want to rush him back so that his chances of making the Euro's aren't harmed.

God i hope Dunne's not. The centre of defence is one of the few area's that has been ok since he got crocked. You'd have put money on him gifting them something today. Think we can forget jenas being fit in time. Bent would be useful though.

Read in the Evening Mail last week that Dunne is back training, but is only running at the moment.  It also said that Bent is doing some light running, but had no real chance of making it back before the end of the season.

Well looking at the results from certain teams below us and the games we have left we are going to be quickly over taken so what is the use of having either of them back as  they will soon wanting to jump ship. The writing is on the wall going down.

Just seen Jenas on SSN.He was speaking very much like a Spurs player, didn't even mention Villa.Hopefully that means we're still not paying his wages

Collins has been a lot better since Dunne has been out of the side.

We miss Bent.

Jenas has been back at Spurs, but has also been at BMH a few times, not sure why? Picking up his pay cheque?

Dunne is back in training today and McLeech has stated that he's hoping to have him in the first team for the Spurs game if not for the Baggies one.

I've a lot of people having a pop at Jenas (not this thread but mainly twitter) and I dont understand why.  At the end of the day, he signed a contract to come to us for the season but got a season ending injury so we sent him back to spurs.  Its not his fault its in the contract for him to get paid by Villa is it?  Maybe our lot should have been a lot more cleverer and put a clause in there that stated that should he (or any other loan players contract) gets injured, his wages are cancelled and the parent company should continue to pay his wages.

Is there some sort of expectation that he should come and support us every game or something?

Injured players should coem to the matches. It isn't too much to ask for the millions they're paid...

Yep. It is practically theft not to turn up.

I think they should be made to stand outside the club shop on New Street wearing placards saying "I steal pounds from football fans"

Even if they have been sent back to their parent company?
