Yes, yes whatever. But, it's a season of "transition".

Bloody fans, what do you know?

This season we've been nothing short of an ambitionless embarrasment, we've stunk the league out for 8 months.

We can post up the stats til we're blue in the face but Randy et al clearly could not give a crap They weren't bothered about the stats when they employed him , let's face it

I can't believe he can think the season's going ok when you see statistics like that.
I am absolutely convinced they think he's doing a job.I'm also convinced we're going down,we are atrocious

The fact the club approached him shows no one in the upper echelons of the club knows anything about football. As such, if he can talk the talk, the manager is probably convincing RL & PF that he is doing a good job.

If you remember Randy/Faulkner said they took plenty of advice before appointing the present manager....from whom!!

I still stand by the belief that no one can possibly turn the statistics above, along with a number of others, into anything resembling a mediocre season let alone a good one.  Given that I can't imagine the board aren't thinking either he needs backing to replace young, downing, etc or are thinking they need a new manager.

I guess the underlying decision is going to have to be based on how much faith the board have in the squad and youth system.  Backing McLeish suggests they think the squad are no better than a relegation fight.  Given it's still a very expensively assembled squad I don't see how they can possibly think that.

Embarrassing is the word that sums it up. Also there's been no progression or sign that we're going to improve, we've actually got worse.

That's the thing Paul.

I could wear a degree of inconsitency.  That's the hallmark of a team in transition, some good games, some not so good games.  You could take positives from the good things and at least take comfort that there is a plan of sorts, a means of progression.

In fairness to McLeish, we have at least been consistent.  Consistently woeful. The tactics haven't really altered throughout the campaign either- they've been consistent too.  Sometimes we have got away with it, and even scratched out the odd victory.  For the most part we haven't.

The Board i.e Randy wont do anything in the summer because he is skint?
We will get a few freebies and a few bosman`s and mix it with the kids
That together with Mcleish next season equals disaster - whatever division we shall be in
Like a lot pf posters on here, I cannot believe the powers that be drive home after every game watching that and seeing the attendance and thinking "Yes, that Mcleish is definitely the man for us"
By the way - does anybody know what happened to that Irish lad we signed in January??

I was going to post something similar, but I'm struggling with tables - perhaps someone could re-post this for me?

Here is our performance over the last twenty years. Although things could obviously change if McLeish manages to magic a win from somewhere, we are on course for our lowest points total, currently having the lowest points per game for that period.

I have seen us once live this season away from home

I have not travelled once to Villa Park to see us

I have probably watched the highlights of our games on MOTD about four or five times this season

I have not watched us once on Football First

I have probably watched us about three times live on the television

I have not bought one scrap of merchandise from the club this season

Obviously the statistics make for terrible reading, but you could put them in 18 foot neon letters down Trinity Road and it wouldn't make any difference.

Sir Alex 2 is here to stay, live with it.

I can't get over the fact that our only home win this year was that 93rd minute bundled goal against Fulham. Otherwise the stats would be even worse.
McGrath help us!
