If McLeish were to go or get the push before the end of the season (and I personally believe neither scenario will happen), who would you like to see in the hot-seat and why? Or who do you think the Board would appoint?

Neither here or there who I would like, but I reckon the fuckwits in charge would go for Mick McCarthy or Alan Curbishley.

They'd probably ask Mac, Sid and Tony to look after it.

I would like to see a director of football to take over all larger footballing matters with Faulkner concentrating on business only and Brendan Rodgers or Paul Lambert appointed manager. Maybe Andre Villas Boas.

If it happened before the end of the season (which it wouldn't) then I don't really see there would be any alternative to the above.

Lambert or Rodgers. Lambert probably has the edge because Aston Villa fans, in my opinion, are too stupid and don't have the patience to watch us play how Rodgers has set up Swansea. For this reason, I think Lambert would have more chance of being successful.

Another vote for the youth coaches to see us until the end of the season.

As for the next permanent manager I'd like to see someone from the Championship or a lesser league abroad. A young coach with fresh ideas, a promising record and a desire to play attacking football. I genuinely don't think we are in a position to attract someone who might look like the finished article or even close to that kind of manager especially after the hit our prestige has taken recently.

As for who they will appoint, it won't be anyone as McLeish is here to stay. If by some miracle he is given the push the replacement will be someone willfully awful. Think Curbs, Bruce or someone like that.

Jose Sandoval, the crazy manager of Vallecano.

Obviously, not really, the circumstances would never work out, but his is the kind of thinking which would stand us in good stead (frankly, if he happened to speak English and was allowed to ship out the poisonous seniors, it actually might work).

I'd leave it with Sid and KMac and prepare a proper search for the right sort of manager in the summer. The attendance today should indicate how bad we are.

Can you imagine Rodgers here!!  It would be hilarious to see the first few training sessions, teaching professionals about pass and move, it would be like the Houllier revolution all over again, I can almost hear thr whining from Dunne, Collins, Warnock and numerous others from here.

Picking up on CBBB's point about Villa fans stupidity I hear those comments on a regular basis

"Don't fanny about with it there" "Get it forwards, it don't matter how" "Get it in the mixer" "Too many passes Villa, get it forwards" etc etc

;-)

On CBBB's and AV82EC's point I think what it would take for people to stop being like that about us playing passing football would be for a sustained run of us playing that way and doing well doing it. If that happened the whinging about it would soon stop.

I'd also say that not all of us, or even most of us are like that, in spite of CBBB's general 'Villa Fans...' claim as if we are that impatient.

He'll be here until the end of the season without a shadow of a doubt. And almost certainly will start next season as well.

Completely agree. It was a hypothetical scenario.
