Sir Brian
« on: April 08, 2012, 09:06:23 AM »
Did anyone hear his commentary on Setanta? He was so far up Liverpools arse he could have cleaned KKKennys teeth from the inside.
Then he goes and gives MoM to the racist who has been booked for diving and has spent most of the game swearing at the ref.
He has lost a bit of his hero worship status.

I did wonder when listening to it whether he had been asked to accentuate Liverpool's positives as it would play better to their audience.

It was certainly a bit surprising to listen to.

I hope Dave is right, and he was plying to his captive audience, but no excuse for his unquestionable, nauseating bias.I've watched Lplop vs Villa games on LTV, and they are nowhere near as BL was yday.

Should hang his head in shame.A Villa legend should know/do better.

I listened,, I wasn't offended by his comments at all: he was balanced but at the same time he did accentuate the scouse position becuase it is newsworthy for many. Our plight isn't.
Surprised he picked Suarez, though, as MOTM.

TV coverage is worldwide and as much as we hate it  audiences in far east, South America and Africa want to listen about Liverpool.

Great player for Villa in the 70s. Couldn't care less about what he did or didn't say on TV yesterday. It'll never effect his hero status with Villa fans of a certain age. Anyone who says different must be seriously easily upset.

Brian Little is a hero. He helped us win 3 League Cups. He's earned the right to say what he wants and if his opinion isn't towing the party line, so be it.

I thought his comments were fair he did make a few points about our doubts as fans that I agreed with, regarding our setup and style of play and ambition.

Have you seen the way Setanta Ireland advertise their games - they completely centre around Liverpool or Man Utd.  Even their newspaper ads will spell out Liverpool in big red letters with the opposing side's name being written in a smaller plainer text.  It's  TV aimed at the lowest common denominator/gloryhunter, I'm afraid, and it does football no favours at all in the long run. I wouldn't be surprised if Sir Brian was told to focus on Liverpool by the folk behind the scenes.  It's pretty nauseating for the rest of us but that's the way the media work I suppose.

I expect Setanta Ireland's one-eyed approach to broadcasting to be reviewed over the next couple of years as the gloryhunting rats steadily jump from the sinking ship that is Liverpool.  (Fingers crossed there is a wide scale cull on all the Scouse football pundits, too.)

Brian Little seemed like a very  frustrated manager and spoke like one throughout. Another TV manager who can only reminisce of top flight management.
Sounded bitter towards Villa in parts I  imagine he thinks he could do better than Mcleish and probably could too
Not enough acknowledgement to the young Villa players.
Though he had great respect for Heskey.
Brian Little not for for first time made a wrong selection as the great Irishman Given was clearly MOM.
His biggest thing was Carroll. He seemed obsessed with Andy Carroll not playing and being on pitch.

He can do, or say, no wrong.

Nothing to see here.

I might have imagined it, but didn't he say early on he hoped  he didn't come across to biased about Villa.
