Weird how a player that is often accused of wasting his talent and not caring about football seems so determined to carry on.  Any idea what sort of money he gets paid and equally how big his debts are?

My daughter trains with one of Chasetown's girl's teams and is going to be a ballboy-girl for the match against Northwich Victoria on 3rd April. Hopefully Hendrie will be playing...

Each time I read something about him another club I didn't know he spent time at seems to get added to his list of former clubs. Last time it was Blackpool, this time Brighton.

Stoke, Sheffield United, Derby, Leicester, Blackpool, Brighton, Bradford, Aberdeen, Bandung, Daventry, Kidderminster & Chasetown. Plus caps for England U21 & seniors. Quite a diverse career.

And it happens again. I didn't know about Daventry and I'd forgotten about Aberdeen.

I don't know about his debts but I doubt he'll be getting more than £100 a match at that level - maybe £200 tops. And if he got banged out of Kiddie after four months I can't see him lasting here much beyond the end of the season.

Would you class hendrie as a former Villa favorite?

I'm not sure I would

Decent player in his day. Not sure his attitude was that decent.

Seeing that list resulted in a theme from Littlest Hobo earworm.

It's weird how some professional football players massively deteriorate, see also Stefan Moore.

I don’t think I would, he had a couple of decent season but nothing outstanding. He always seemed like a big time charlie to me and that’s why I wasn’t surprised to hear about his financial trouble.

I went right off him when he said to a Colchester player

'You can come and clean my car if you like.'

Prick

It's not like the old days on here and Villatalk is it.

With stories like this, you used to get loads of posts like

'We should give him a coaching job!'

'Why the fuck aren't the club helping him out?'

'Hang your heads in shame, so called Villa supporters.'

Probably after a Colchester clogger started dishing it out to him. Don't give it if you can't take it etc.

Didn't one-time H&Ver Hawkesey support Chasetown and if memory serves, hate Hendrie?
