Torres has lost it totally.

A footballing version of the yips.

I'd swap Heskey for him though.

Nope. Torres was an incredible striker, but he needs to get out of Chelsea to somewhere he is loved. Eck ain't gonna change him!

Arsenal would be a good move for him.

It's a tough one. If there was any hope that Torres could find his form again then, yes. Although I'm a big fan of Bent.
Torres needs to play regularly without his place being in jeopardy, which seems unfair to anybody competing with him. When he settles again, which wont be at Chelsea, I reckon he'll be a top striker again.

Anyway, this is never going to be an option.
If Torres leaves Chelsea it will be to go back to Spain or maybe Italy.

No. Torres looks shot. He was left out of the last Spain squad while his replacement Soldado scored a hat trick (weren't we linked with him once?) so he probably won't make the Euro's which will crush his confidence even more.

His decline started at Liverpool and he's had so many managers now, trying all sorts of systems to help him and nothing's worked. Really can't see how playing for us would change anything.

With the exception of Warnock, I have yet to see a player become so spectacurlarly shit in such a short space of time, he seems to have lost a yard of pace and he misses more sitters than Bent easily. He also chooses to blame everyone but himself

What a conundrum. At his best i'm struggling to think of many better strikers, but will he get it back? It's in him and I do expect him to come back so I suppose....yes.

Lots of butter, crusty bread, HP sauce. The bacon has to be fried, not grilled

I was having a similar conversation yesterday with some mates which revolved around Bent leaving us in the summer and not being able to get the money back we laid out for him (all transfer fees seem to be dropping) so we'd need to do a straight swap for another striker. The two obvious ones came up, Torres or Carrol. In other words a rapier or a battering ram. We all went for Torres, let's face it Torres has more to his game than putting the ball in the net. Some of his work on the ball last night was superb and I'm certain that once he gets a goal he'll be back to where he was. Plus how many managers has he had at Romans Toy? Two, three? At least if he came to us he'd know that the manager is going to be here for the length of his contract.

And as an aside, did you notice their fans were chanting his name all the time as if he was scoring a goal every five minutes not five months. Now that's how you support a player that's having a rough time.

That was funny when the Chelsea fans were chanting for him to take their penalty at the Sty, and the noses joined in.

While I agree with that, I think the battering ram would fit into our side better than the rapier.

But a straight choice between Torres or Bent?  It's all about whether Torres regains form, as if he does he's twice the striker Bent is, and I am a big Bent fan!  I think I'd err on the side of caution and say no, as it'd be a huge gamble to sacrifice our biggest asset.

Forget Torres, we should get Marlon King. He's much rapier.
